 is an editorial and documentary photographer based in Austin, Texas. Her images have appeared in numerous publications including National Geographic Magazine, American Medical News, Fly Fisherman Magazine, and Body & Soul Magazine. Her images have also been featured in group shows nationwide and six solo exhibitions in Texas. She was a press office photographer for former Texas Governor Ann Richards and a stringer for Agence-France Presse wire service. Other clients include The Ford Foundation, Wilderness Travel, and the Texas Medical Association. Susan is a volunteer for Casting for Recovery (CFR), a national non-profit organization that holds fly-fishing retreats for women who have or have had cancer survivors. Susan Gaetz is the co-author of the documentary photography book "The Quiet in the Land: Mennonites in Texas," published by Texas A&M University Press. In addition to freelancing, she teaches photojournalism at the University of Texas where she received her master's degree in 1994. |
